People of the Black Country urged to try out new pickleball start-up club with intro sessions for just £1
Passionate pickleballers are working to raise the profile of the sport in the Black Country with a new club.

The club 'Power Pickleball' is hosting Saturday sessions to get any interested participants involved in the sport at an inclusive level - with no prior experience needed.
Racket sport pickleball was invented in the United States in the 1960s but has grown more popular around the globe in recent decades.
Sessions of the sport - which combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis - will take place on Saturdays at Leasowes High School in Halesowen for ages 11 and above.
They will begin, on the first Saturday of every month, with an introduction to pickleball session for just £1.
Following that there will be weekly Saturday social sessions where internal matches will be organised, where participants can play with and against mixed ages and abilities.
"Pickleball is growing because it's really easy as a sport to learn, pick up and play," said lead organiser James Mackay.
"I have people in my family who don't play racket sports, tennis, padel and badminton is too much for them. But with pickleball they can be rallying and enjoying their game within an hour. It is really accessible.
"It is suitable for ages 11 to 111! Because it is a low-impact activity.

"No equipment is needed. Our club is all about inclusivity, playing sport but socialising afterwards.
"Pickleball is not just great to get your heart rate up and body moving, but also it's a really sociable activity. You mainly play doubles, so there are always four on a court. There is something about the community that lends itself to socialising with new friends. I would love to see us build this community."
The opening first introduction session at the school is Saturday, September 6, where a coaching session takes place for all newcomers and any interested parties are encouraged to try out.
The following weekend, September 13, is the first opportunity to play matches against other members.

Sessions run from 2pm until 4pm.
