Step 5 & 6 round-up as Lye Town make excellent start to the season
Lye Town started their Midland Football League Premier Division campaign with a win on their travels against Coton Green.
The clash at New Mill Lane ended 2-0 to Lye after a first-half goal from Danny Cartwright and a second from Luke Sidaway 19 minutes from time.
After one game, they sit third in the table behind Abbey Hutton United and 1874 Northwich.
AFC Wolverhampton City also got off to a winning start after victory against Uttoxeter Town.
On home turf, City took the lead when Daniel Munday scored after 15 minutes. Lewis Dawson got one back for the visitors on the hour mark, only for Jay Holdcroft to get the winner six minutes later.
Uttoxeter were reduced to 10 men with nine minutes left after Charles Goldstraw was sent off for picking up his second yellow card.
Dudley Town picked up three points on their travels thanks to victory at Winsford United.
Matty Lovatt, in his seventh season as Dudley boss, watched Jamie Beddall and Alfie Wilkes get the goals.
Stone Old Alleyians picked up a win in their first game against Studley - they won 2-1.
Brocton could only manage a 2-2 draw at Northwich Victoria. AJay Leitch-Smith got the game's first goal for the hosts, but Brocton led at half-time thanks to a brace from Morgan Payne. Jefferson Abreu then scored an equaliser as the game ended all square.
Stourport Swifts were on the wrong side of the result as they were beaten 1-0 at Hanley Town, while Tividale were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Whitchurch Alport.
In Division One, Gornal Athletic maintained their 100 per cent start to the season after a 3-1 win against Allexton & New Parks. They are top of the league on goal difference.
Bilston have had a good start to the season. They won again at the weekend after a 1-0 victory at Leicester St Andrews.
Birmingham OJM lost their undefeated record at the start of the season as they were beaten 2-0 at Knowle. Talib Copeland and Ricardo Dudley were on the score sheet.
Cradley Town got the better of Coventry Copsewood in a five-goal thriller to register their first victory of the season. An own goal and strikes from Rahiem Faulder and Kane Harrold saw them over the line in the 3-2 victory.
Alfie Chatwin and Red Simmons guided Smethwick Rangers to their first win of the campaign getting the better of Saffron Dynamo 2-0.
Wednesfield Community fell to their third successive loss as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Heather St. John's.
In the North West Counties League Division One South, Stafford Town won 4-1 at home to Barnton. James May gave them the lead, and then Matthew Hearsey scored a second-half hat-trick to put the game beyond doubt.
Eccleshall won 1-0 at home to Allscott Heath thanks to a 13th-minute Ben Marshall goal.
Wolverhampton Sporting have now lost four from four after they were thumped 7-0 away at Runcorn Town, and Wolverhampton Casuals picked up their first win of the season against Alsager Town. A Jonathan Letford brace and goals from Charlie Swingwood and Kyri Kourouyianni saw them register a 4-1 victory.
And in the Hellenic League Division One, Bewdley Town got a 3-1 win over Shortwood United.
