Walsall predicted XI vs Gillingham: Comley suspended, Burke return and Clarke's cameo
Walsall midfielder Lewis Warrington is set to be given a golden opportunity to shine against Gillingham on Saturday in the wake of Brandon Comley's suspension.
Comley will now serve a one-match ban following his red card in the 21st-minute during the Saddlers' 2-1 win over Swindon Town on Saturday.
The 29-year-old was dismissed on the spot for pulling down last-man Aaron Drinan shortly after Evan Weir had given Walsall the lead with a stunning free-kick.
Warrington was thrown in at the deep end less than 48 hours after joining on a two-year deal from Leyton Orient and passed the test with flying colours.
Browne-Burke dilemma
Rico Browne was penalised for the softest of challenges on Swindon target man Harry Smith late in the second half - a refereeing decision which Walsall boss Mat Sadler described as "outrageous" afterwards.
The 21-year-old otherwise impressed on his league debut for Walsall, although Harrison Burke will come back into the reckoning after missing the opening game with an ankle injury.
Burke, signed from non-league Chester earlier in the summer window, was a key figure during pre-season, and will provide Sadler with a major selection dilemma ahead of their trip to Kent.
Clarke's cracking cameo
With the nature of the performance against Swindon, it would be very surprising if Sadler makes drastic changes, but Courtney Clarke's cameo from the bench has also posed him with another positive to mull over.
Clarke was signed from Eastbourne Borough as a right wing-back, but Sadler did trial him in central midfield for brief periods during pre-season.
It's a position which Clarke is familiar with having played there sporadically for Eastbourne, and more frequently for South Shields.
Charlie Lakin covered every blade of grass and Jamie Jellis also put in a good shift. It would be harsh to drop either of them, but Clarke has done his first team chances no harm at all.
His rampaging run and deft pass into the feet of Connor Barrett set-up a dramatic winner for Walsall in the 91st-minute, as they started the new campaign on a winning note.
Strike partnership

Jonny Stuttle looked exciting during the opening exchanges of his debut, but had to be sacrificed once Walsall went down to 10-men.
It was a difficult decision by Sadler, but also necessary. Aaron Pressley did the job of two on his own but is set to have his partner in crime back by his side on the weekend.
The pair struck up an exciting partnership in pre-season. Pressley scored three goals; Stuttle netted twice in total.
Predicted XI
Walsall (3-1-4-2): Roberts; Browne, Flint, Weir; Warrington; Barrett, Jellis, Lakin, Hancock; Stuttle, Pressley.
Subs: Hornby, Farquharson, Burke, Clarke, Hollman, Matt, Adomah.
