Three non-league players in the West Midlands to look out for this season
Former Port Vale forward and Staffordshire lad Danny Turner will look to light up the Northern Premier League with Hednesford Town.
Hednesford netted 81 goals in the regular Northern One West season, and the addition of Turner has only bolstered the Pitmen’s already strong attacking options.
Turner returns to the Pitmen having previously played at Keys Park in the 2020/21 season.
Hednesford boss Gavin Hurren said the club beat off stiff competition to sign the 26-year-old from Stone who made more than 30 senior appearances for boyhood club Port Vale between 2016 and 2019.
Turner joined the Pitmen after recent spells at Chester and Leamington.
Hurren said he had “always been a big admirer” of the forward who is one of a number of statement summer signings by Hednesford who are seeking back-to-back promotions.
The departure of Ashley Hemmings has left a huge hole to fill at Kidderminster Harriers. But, boss Adam Murray and the Harriers faithful will hope Kurt Willoughby is just the man to do so.
Hemmings, who left for National League South outfit Dagenham & Redbridge, netted 33 goals for Kidderminster last season.

However, Willoughby boasts an impressive career so far and arrives with pedigree.
The 27-year-old joined Kidderminster after leaving Oldham Athletic. He scored 23 goals for Chester in the 2022/23 season that earned him a move to Oldham.
Loaned back to Chester, Willoughby was part of the squad that beat Kidderminster to reach the National League North play-off final, and has also recently spent time on loan in Scotland with Ayr.
Kristian Green is well known on the local non-league scene as a solid defender and leader.
The former Tamworth and Solihull Moors defender, and Rushall Olympic captain, has resigned for Sporting Khalsa and was announced as the club’s new captain.
A rock at the back, he will lead Khalsa into the unknown after they were moved to the Northern One West from the Northern One Midlands.
