Senior players and young talents will be looking for their next move with the season only a couple of weeks away.

It is the same every year at every club - as players look to secure their future.

So, what happened to the players released by Albion last summer in what was a big turnover of players.

Here is a look at how the season panned out for those shown the door by Albion in 2024:

Matty Phillips

Phillips quickly bagged himself a decent Championship move, heading to Oxford United.

Despite some injury issues, the long serving Albion man bagged two goals in 30 appearances

Adam Reach

Reach spent the first half of the season without a club, before penning a short term deal with Wycombe Wanderers.

He featured in the play-offs for them, but they failed to reach a Wembley final and he was released.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Chalobah didn't take long to find a new club, as he signed for Sheffield Wednesday and went on to make 18 appearances for the club.

Erik Pieters

Pieters was a free agent before he joined Albion - and after his release he went on trial with Luton Town.

He also had time training with Middlesbrough - before penning a short term deal with Derby. He is now without a club again.

Yan M'Vila

He made a handful of appearances for Albion but wasn't kept on.

He had a decent campaign after his Albion departure, featuring 18 times in the league for Ligue 2 side Caen.

Martin Kelly

Kelly arrived at Albion but was plagued by injuries and made just a handful of appearances.

He left last summer and still remains without a club. He is yet to confirm his retirement but it is unsure whether he is actively seeking a new club.

Jovan Malcolm

Tipped for big things, it never materialised for Malcolm who was released last summer.

He dropped into non-league with Gateshead and a decent campaign has led to recent reported EFL interest in the striker.

Jamie Andrews

Andrews was handed his bow at Albion but was released after a string of loan moves. He went to non-league Woking and had a very good campaign, making over 40 appearances.

Bradley Foster

The young keeper spent a few months without a club, before being drafted in at Wrexham during an injury crisis. He made one appearance but this summer has become number one at Scottish Championship side Ross County.

Aaron Harper-Bailey

He was tipped for big things at Albion but it never came to fruition.

Last summer Albion decided not to renew the defender's contract and he has spent the next chapter of his career in Ireland with Drogheda United.

Narel Phillips

Phillips signed for Stafford Rangers upon his release from Albion but it seems he has now departed the club, and is not named in their first team squad.

Ruben Shakpoke

The 21-year-old winger made the move south into non-league, first with Enfield Town and Maidstone, before signing for Welling United.

Cheick Kone

After his release he went to Hartpury College - before moving to the US with the Orlando City academy and had a loan spell with Orange County.

Jenson Sumnall

Sumnall was one of the players picked up by another academy, bagging a one year deal with Peterborough.

He went out on loan to Stamford and is now on the lookout for a club again after being released by Posh.
