Since head coach Ryan Mason's arrival at Albion there has been intrigue over whether he will turn to his old club for potential loan signings.

It was only natural that the Baggies would be linked with Spurs youngsters - given Mason's long association with the north London side, including in the academy ranks.

His arrival came on the back of Will Lankshear's brief spell on loan at The Hawthorns last season.

The young striker has been linked with a move back to the Baggies this summer - and another highly-rated Spurs youngster reported to be attracting Albion interest is gifted attacker Moore.

Starlet Moore made a number of substitute appearances for Spurs last season - as an injury crisis bit at the club.

He netted his first goal in the Europa League and saw his stock rise throughout the season.

Reports earlier this month said new Spurs boss Thomas Frank was waiting to assess a number of Tottenham's young players, before deciding to send them out on loan.

And now Spurs have made a decision on the future of star youngster Moore, who does not turn 18 until next month, and two of his team-mates from the youth ranks.

Mason is a huge fan of the creative attacker - but it seems that if it does then they will certainly be facing competition.

Scottish side Rangers have emerged as leading contenders to take the teen on loan.

There is unsurprisingly no shortage of interest in the prospect. Last week Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund were credited with keeping a watching eye, while Burnley and Brentford have also been linked with the youngster.

In a similar position to Moore, but slightly older and with loan experienced already under their belt is midfielder Alfie Devine and striker Dane Scarlett.

Devine, 20, is a gifted central midfield player who was a regular for England at under-19s and under-20s.

He has already had time out on loan initially at Port Vale in League One, where he really caught the eye, before a spell in the Championship with Plymouth two seasons ago.

That led to a move to Belgian top flight outfit Westerlo last term where Devine impressed and netted six times in 30 league appearances for a side who finished mid-table.

Mason and Albion are looking to bolster their midfield, with Alex Mowatt, Jayson Molumby and Ousmane Diakite the only natural senior options.

Diakite missed Saturday's friendly defeat at Lincoln with a minor ankle knock. Molumby, who has been suspended from friendlies this summer, made his return at Sincil Bank.

Also on Spurs' loan-out list is striker Scarlett. The powerful 21-year-old striker is no stranger to a Football League loan having been out for spells at Portsmouth, Ipswich and Oxford in the last three seasons.

Goals have not been free-flowing for Scarlett while away from north London, though he did net four times in 20 league appearances for the Yellows in their last season, as they readjusted to life back in the second tier.

Mason has four senior strikers in his squad - Aune Heggebo, Daryl Dike, Josh Maja and Devante Cole - though more business in that department is not out of the question.
