The defending champion enters the tournament on the back of a tied 34th-placed finish at The Open Championship in Portrush, Northern Ireland. Lee Westwood matched his score.

Meanwhile, Hatton finished tied-16th, finishing seven-under par while two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau recovered from a tough opening round to finish tied-10th.

The two-time US Open champion was immensely popular with fans at JCB Golf and Country Club last year. Large crowds followed DeChambeau who is known for his ability off the tee, and has amassed more than 2.1 million followers on YouTube through posting golf videos that have featured the likes of US President Donald Trump.

DeChambeau, who captains the Crushers GC, will be expected to compete for the title this week.

19 LIV Golf players played in The Open at Portrush. Dustin Johnson was the third LIV Golfer to finish in the top-25 while Sergio Garcia went three-under in the final round.

Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson finished tied-56th and will be sure to attract crowds at JCB.

As for the par-71, 7,276-yard course - it’s immaculate. JCB Golf and Country Club is widely regarded as one of the finest in the country.

It was established in 2018 by Lord Bamford, chairman of JCB, with the aim of promoting the JCB brand and hosting high-profile golf tournaments.

The course was designed by Robin Hiseman and built around Woodseat Hall with two goals in mind - to entertain visitors to JCB headquarters and as a venue for top professionals.

JCB staff are able to play the course, and can also bring guests. However, no access is available to the public.

LIV Golf, that was formed in 2021 to rival the PGA Tour, was first hosted in the UK by Centurion Club near London. But, it was announced in November 2023 that the series would head to the West Midlands, and thousands of fans turned out to watch the event.

There’s lots to look forward to for fans again this year, on and off the course. DJ Kygo will headline a concert while thousands of fans will gather at the electric party-hole.
