Wolves’ trip to Tottenham in September could be subject to a late date change after it was rescheduled for TV coverage.

The match in north London has been pushed back a day to Sunday, September 28 (kick-off 2pm) for live broadcast on Sky Sports.

However, the match could be moved again depending on what day Tottenham play in the Champions League the following week.

The Champions League draw will not take place until the end of August, meaning final confirmation of Wolves’ match at Tottenham cannot be given until then.

Villa have also seen a match moved with their first trip to Sunderland since 2018 being switched to Sunday, September 21. It will kick-off at 2pm and be shown live on Sky Sports.

The Premier League, meanwhile, has apologised for missing its original deadline for announcing September’s fixture changes by a fortnight.

Changes to the schedule had originally been due to be released on July 9 but the league said “delays in local approvals for fixtures unfortunately meant only August fixtures were announced on this date.”

Its statement continued: “The Premier League would like to apologise for not being able to confirm these fixtures until now.

“However, today’s announcement is in line with our commitment to give at least six weeks’ notice for fixture announcements before January.”
