Midfielder among trio of Aston Villa players to seal loan moves
Midfielder Tommi O’Reilly is among a trio of young Villa players heading out on loan for the coming season.
The 21-year-old will spend a second successive campaign in League Two after joining Crewe.
O’Reilly spent last season at Shrewsbury and MK Dons, making 28 total appearances in the fourth tier.
Defender Finley Munroe will also play in League Two after joining Swindon, while goalkeeper Oliwier Zych is heading back to his native Poland with Raków Częstochowa.
The highly-rated 21-year-old shot-stopper appeared several times on the bench for Villa in the Premier League and Champions League last season and will look to build his experience further in the Polish top flight.
Munroe, meanwhile, will get his first sustained taste of English senior football with the League Two Robins, who are managed by Ian Holloway.
The 20-year-old has two senior Villa appearances under his belt, having been used as a substitute both in the Conference League and Premier League late in the 2023-24 season.
He spent last season with Real Union in Spain.
Munroe said: “I’m really excited to join Swindon Town for the season.
“It’s a big club with a great fanbase and history, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got. I want to learn, improve, and help the team push towards the top end of the table.”
“I spoke with the manager and felt a real sense of belief in what the club is building. There’s a clear plan here, and I’m grateful to be part of it.
“I can’t wait to get going, meet the lads, and play in front of the supporters.”
