The 27-year-old left Oldham at the end of last season after they beat Southend in the play-off final at Wembley.

The frontman has vast experience, having been promoted from the National League North during his time with York City.

He has also played for AFC Fylde and FC United during his career so far.

Speaking after signing, Willoughby said: “The manager coming is a reason (why he joined) and it being the right time for me personally. The lads they have brought in already is also a great pull.

“It is a good set-up at the training ground. I was surprised by it to be honest, I think we have got everything here to go and challenge for the title.

“I think the standard of players is good for this league. A couple have dropped down, and the club came very close last season, so I think we are looking very strong.”

Sporting Khalsa have also been busy in the transfer market this week. They have added Prince Henry to their ranks. The centre forward was a product of Bristol City’s academy, and he helped Worcester City to promotion last season.

Khalsa have also signed Taylor Townsend from Worcester. The attacker scored twice against them last campaign.
