Pre-season training pictures as West Brom stars made to sweat in the Walsall heat

On the first day Mason held introductory talks with the first-team squad and those promising youngsters invited to join in from the beginning of pre-season. The squad was then joined by Albion's international players as the week progressed, with Torbjorn Heggem's return on Monday and Tom Fellows' to be confirmed.
Mason cut a friendly and approachable manner in his first couple of days in situ, it is believed, as players were measured and tested by physical staff in the gym.
Some light training including ball work and running followed on the club's training pitches. General cardio work including the bleep test fitness exercise were included on the agenda.
Players were given this weekend off and will return to work on Monday as plans continue for the new campaign.
The Championship campaign is some six weeks away, when the Baggies will open up with the visit of former boss Valerien Ismael's Blackburn Rovers.
Prior to that Albion tackle friendlies away at Football League opposition Blackpool and Lincoln on July 19 and July 26 respectively, with a home warm-up game against Rayo Vallecano of Spain on August 2.
The latter will be a first opportunity to use the new safe standing areas in place in the upper Smethwick End and Millennium Corner.
