England under-21s' bid for European glory takes them to a final against Germany on Saturday - meaning silverware on the line for Albion starlet Tom Fellows.

The homegrown Baggies winger is part of Lee Carsley's squad for the tournament in Slovakia.

The Young Lions secured a memorable 2-1 success over The Netherlands in Wednesday afternoon's semi-final - via two goals from Liverpool's Harvey Elliott including a late winner - to book their spot in the weekend's showpiece final.

It is consecutive European Championship finals for Carsley's troops, who are holders after winning the tournament 2023.

Fellows did not make it from the bench against the Dutch in Bratislava and has made just one appearance in the competition, as a substitute against final rivals Germany in the group stage.

The Albion star, 21, was initially part of Carsley's travelling group as an injury back-up and became part of the squad due to availability.

He has three caps at under-21s level and netted in his second appearance for the age group last November.

Fellows will be part of Carsley's squad for Saturday night's (8pm kick-off) final against Germany, where the Young Lions will look to hit back from the 2-1 group stage defeat in which the Albion man played half an hour.

The final is in Tehelne pole, the same stadium England prevailed against The Netherlands in the last four.

Liverpool man Elliott gave his side a second-half lead but the Dutch equalised through Noah Ohio's speculative effort. Elliott came up trumps five minutes from time, however, with a fine individual winner.

Fellows' involvement in the tournament means he has not yet joined back with Albion colleagues at the club's training base in Walsall.

New boss Ryan Mason welcomed his squad on Wednesday, minus those who played international football at the beginning of the month - Torbjorn Heggem, Isaac Price and Callum Styles - and Fellows.

The trio will check in at a later date with Fellows likely to be granted some extra leave.

The academy graduate star, from Longbridge in Birmingham, netted four goals and laid on a league-high 14 assists in 45 Championship appearances last term.
