Mark Fogarty earmarked Williams as a potential prospect during Sadler's first summer at the helm and the towering centre-back subsequently signed permanently.

Williams' first season at Walsall was cut short by a long-term hip flexor injury, but he thrived in his second campaign, scoring three goals in 40 appearances.

The 22-year-old is out-of-contract at Walsall this summer, with talks still ongoing over his future.

While Fogarty acknowledged that Williams' spells out of the team might have cost Walsall dearly, he feels the faith Sadler showed in Williams was the catalyst to his rise.
