The signing of last summer at Albion who went on to feature heavily and play a vital role for the Baggies, scooped awards at the end of his first campaign.

That was a mark of how key he was for the Baggies and how highly he is now rated.

It also coincided with Heggem nailing down a place in the Norway side, becoming a regular starter for his country over the last campaign.

And that was even more evident on Friday night, as the big defender played a starring role in his side's stunning 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Italy in Norway.

The home side ran away with it in the first half, with Man City's Erling Haaland on the scoresheet as they raced into a resounding lead.

And then it was about keeping the back door shut and who better to do that than Albion's man mountain.

Heggem started the game and played 70 minutes before being taken off in the second period.

It was Heggem's latest cap and he is set to add to that on Monday as Norway take on Estonia in their latest qualifier.
