Jamille Matt on Wembley 'pride' and Walsall's crazy season
Jamille Matt says leading Walsall out in the League Two play-off final at Wembley Stadium would be one of the proudest moments of his career.
Walsall face AFC Wimbledon in the capital on Monday, with both teams vying for a place in League One next season.
Matt has played at Wembley twice, losing both times in the League Two play-off final with Plymouth Argyle and Newport County in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
He was an unused substitute when Fleetwood won at Wembley in 2014 and the 35-year-old has his sights set on making it third time lucky with Walsall.
Doing so with his local club, as Matt pointed out, would also taste extra sweet.
"[Leading Walsall out at Wembley will rank] right at the top of the list. It was brilliant just to come back, I always dreamed of playing for the club," Matt beamed.
"Something like this will be the icing on the cake. Listen, we want that cherry, which will be winning.
