Transfer rumours - August 11
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
WOLVES
The Anderson Talisca transfer continues to tease Wolves fans with Portugese media reporting that a £21.5 million deal is all but done.
The 22-year-old midfielder is said to be a work permit away from a four to five year deal, although O Jogo newspaper - which also said the deal was done weeks ago - has claimed that the Brazilian is hoping to spend a year at Wolves before moving to the Premier League (join Wolves, win promotion, problem solved).
Meanwhile Wolves are now clear favourites to sign Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto, at least according to odds at Bet Victor.
Last week Wolves and former club Sevilla were both priced at 4/1 to sign the 22-year-old, but now Wolves' odds have dropped to 2/1 with Sevilla rising to 6/1.
Wolves also remain clear favourites to sign David Nugent, with the site offering just 6/4.
In other news Michal Zyro has a surprise up his sleeve...
WEST BROM
Will the Baggies sign a left-back?
Schalke are the latest side to rebuff Albion's approaches while the club looks to be no closer to signing Charlie Taylor, who featured for Leeds in the club's League Cup penalty shootout victory against Fleetwood last night.
Nonetheless, the highly sought after youngster is odds on to be at The Hawthorns come September. Albion are priced at 2/7, with Burnley and Middlesborough also in the race.
The Baggies have also been linked with Senegalese forward Moussa Konate.
The 23-year-old has scored 26 goals in 59 league appearances for Swiss side FC Sion and has been linked with a host of English sides this summer, including Hull, Spurs and Swansea.
Meanwhile James Chester looks set to join Villa (if Albion's local rivals can convince the 27-year-old to stay in the Midlands instead of moving to Middlesborough) while 'Sky Sources' claim that Albion are in the hunt to sign Christian Benteke from Liverpool.
The £32.5 million signing was also linked with a move to the Baggies in April, despite having four years left on his contract.
Would a return to the West Midlands mean a return to form for the Belgian centre-forward?
ASTON VILLA
The pressure on Villa to strengthen their squad will only have increased after a dire result in the League Cup last night.
And while Chester might be on the way to shore up the defence, could Ravel Morrison be the next attacker to arrive at Villa Park?
The midfielder made just four league appearances for Lazio last season and is strongly linked with a move to the Midlands, where he spent a season on loan with Birmingham in 2012/13.
Villa are miles ahead in the betting market at just 6/4 to sign the 23-year-old, with Hull priced as their nearest rivals at 6/1.
WALSALL
All quiet on the Saddlers front, apart from the non-stop speculation over Rico Henry's future.
Jon Whitney today confirmed that the star's future at the Banks's won't be guaranteed until the dust settles on September 1. Luckily "Rico just takes it in his stride".
