Transfer Rumours: July 13
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
Wolves and Leeds United have been credited with an interest in United States midfielder Danny Williams, who plays for Championship rivals Reading.
The 27-year-old has a year left on his contract with the Royals, having joined the club from German side Hoffenheim in 2013, and might be ready to move on.
Williams made a total of 46 appearances for Reading last season, scoring six goals and providing three assists, but a new manager is now at the helm in Jaap Stam.
WEST BROM
West Brom could turn to long-standing transfer target Dieumerci Mbokani, if Baggies striker Saido Berahino get his move away from the Hawthorns this summer.
Albion were hoping to safeguard Berahino's value, with Premier League cohorts Stoke City and Watford sniffing around, by making him the club's highest-paid player.
The 22-year-old has one year left on his current contract with a £15,000-a-week salary, but West Brom will receive some compensation if he leaves on a free transfer next summer.
And boss Tony Pulis may pursue Congo hitman Mbokani, 30, who is back with Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev after spending last season on loan in England at relegated Norwich City.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo may splash the cash and offer Championship rivals Bristol City three times their initial outlay for Robins hot-shot Jonathan Kodjia.
The Ivory Coast forward netted 20 goals in his first season for the Robins, after joining for £2million from French top-flight outfit Angers. His value has now shot up to £6m.
Villa are determined to bring in a prolific goal-getter with experience of the division and the 26-year-old would be interested in a move to a team with the name value of Villa.
WALSALL
Premier League big guns Liverpool and Arsenal may yet come in to rival West Ham and lure Walsall's £1.5million-rated teenage star Rico Henry away from the Banks's Stadium.
The Hammers appear to be in front of Championship Leeds for the 19-year-old, having loaned Walsall midfielder George Dobson to build up a good relationship with the Saddlers.
But West Ham might not be able to compete with the attraction joining Liverpool or Arsenal, who will have title aspirations again, would offer to the England Under-19 international.
