We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest transfer gossip.

We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

An injury to Adam Armstrong could only delay Wolves' efforts to bring in the Newcastle United striker on loan.

The 19-year-old has suffered a thigh problem on international duty with England Under-20s, which could see him miss most of pre-season.

That will only push him further down the pecking order at Newcastle, who are targeting promotion from the Championship.

League rivals Wolves would be prepared to wait until the end of the transfer window to borrow the former Coventry City loan star.

WEST BROM

Long-standing suitors Tottenham Hotspur may not have dropped out of the race to sign West Brom striker Saido Berahino after all.

A host of other top-flight outfits including Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Watford and Everton are still tracking the 22-year-old forward.

Spurs had two bids rejected for him in last summer's transfer window, with the Baggies still adamant the asking price is between £15m and £20m.

Tottenham want support for Premier League Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, with Berahino and Marseille's Michy Batshuayi on their list of targets.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are considering making Republic of Ireland Euro 2016 defender Robbie Brady their next acquisition of the Roberto Di Matteo revolution.

Di Matteo completed his first new signing since joining the club that has been bought by Tony Xia by capturing £3m Bournemouth stopper Tommy Elphick.

Brady is in France for the Euros and will consider his future at Norwich City - who have been relegated to the Championship with Villa - upon his return.

The 24-year-old is keen on playing in the top tier again, but a club the size of Villa might still appeal to him. Norwich might be reluctant to sell, though.

WALSALL

Walsall are watching with a keen interest whether their former striker Troy Deeney joins top-flight champions Leicester City in a big-money move from Watford.

But they could also be due a cash windfall, through a sell-on clause, if ex-Saddlers winger Jamie Paterson moves to Huddersfield Town from Nottingham Forest permanently.

The 24-year-old is wanted back at Huddersfield from Forest, where he's contracted for another two years. The Reds will ask for £1m with Walsall picking up, at least, 10 per cent of the fee.
