A compressive performance for the Pitmen was rounded off with two long range goals from the boot of Sean Williams.

Despite Hendesford looking dangerous from the outset it was Neil Kitching's side who hit on the counter-attack and Joe Thomas' shot from the edge of the box was just tipped over.

However, the Pitmen got their deserved lead on 23 minutes when Williams controlled the ball 25 yards out before firing home.

The visitors soaked up Rangers pressure and hit on the break to double their lead on 42 minutes with Adam Thomas crossing to Kyle Perry who headed down to Ahmed Obeng to slot home.

From the restart the Boro had the ball in the opposite net when Nathan Rooney's cross was headed home by Christian Dacres but he was ruled to be offside before the break.

The visitors secured the win on 75 minutes with a third goal courtesy of Williams who smashed the ball into the top corner from 20 yards.

There was still time for Sam Griffiths to get his first goal in a Rangers shirt cutting in from the left before firing in against the post with nine minutes remaining.

Another lapse in the Boro defense allowed the visitors to regain their three goal lead with five minutes remaining when Jermaine Johnson's clearance cannoned off Kyle Patterson who found himself through on goal and finished the tie 4-1.
