Luke Benbow introduced Halesowen's new keeper Shaun Rowley to the game early on when he forced him into a save low down.

Rowley was pleased to see the ball caught under Zak Martin's feet before he could shoot before veteran Asa Charlton produced two good tackles to deny Alex Reid.

Kris Taylor forced another save from Rowley, who was impressive in the first half as he also saved from Reid, Benbow and Jake Heath.

The visitors' best chance came when Jean Michel-Gueyes fired straight at Dean Coleman from close range before Rowley produced his best save so far – diving to his left to keep out Jack Duggan, who went close earlier on.

Reid tried to square for Heath early on in the second half but good defending from Aaron Griffiths prevented the midfielder from having a tap in.

Griffiths came close to breaking the deadlock as he curled a free-kick just wide of the target before Benbow shot wide at the other end.

The visitors almost won it late on when Michel-Gueyes drove at goal from 20 yards but Coleman produced the best save of the game to tip the ball onto the bar.
