We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has distanced the club from speculation linking them to a loan move for Newcastle United winger Yoan Gouffran.

Championship rivals Charlton have also been linked to the 29-year-old Frenchman, who has played just 65 minutes of Premier League football in two appearances this season.

But Jackett already has five loanees and may not decide to add any further temporary additions to the squad before Wednesday's loan deadline.

WEST BROM

West Brom are looking at 'one for the future' in the January transfer window after running the rule over young York City midfielder Ben Godfrey.

The 17-year-old has already broken through to the Ministermen's first-team and is attracting interest from Albion, along with Hull and Cardiff.

The Baggies sent a scout to watch York's League Two clash at home to Plymouth last weekend, where Godfrey was on target in a 2-1 defeat.

ASTON VILLA

Uruguayan striker Felipe Avenatti is still keen on a move to Aston Villa in January - but a switch depends on whether new boss Remi Garde wants him.

Former manager Tim Sherwood identified the 22-year-old as a target in the summer and held preliminary talks with the player's agent.

Avenatti eventually decided to stay put at Italian second-tier side Ternana, but could be available for a cut-price fee of £3.2million.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
