We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are interested in Charlton Athletic winger Calum Harriott as a potential replacement for Bakary Sako, but face competition from other clubs in the Championship.

The 21-year-old is unhappy at the Valley after falling down the pecking order, since the arrival of Guy Luzon as manager in January, and has a year left on his contract.

The former England youth international could be available for a cut-price fee but Queens Park Rangers are also keen, although Huddersfield Town have refuted their link.

WEST BROM

Out-of-contract West Brom defender Gareth McAuley can add Championship side Leeds United to his list of prospective suitors this summer.

The 35-year-old has been offered a new deal at the Hawthorns but would prefer a two-year contract, which the Whites are prepared to offer.

New Leeds chief Uwe Rosler wants to pair him with Newcastle stopper Mike Williamson and the size of the club would appeal to McAuley.

The Northern Ireland international is also wanted by his former club Leicester, though, where he could stay in the top-flight for another season.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa could launch a double raid on Leeds for highly-rated duo Sam Byram and Lewis Cook, with boss Tim Sherwood looking for potential.

Sherwood wants a bigger emphasis on youth next season, as he clears the decks in his aging squad to make way for new blood at Villa Park.

Right-sided Byram, 21, has already clock up over 100 appearances while midfielder Cook, at just 18, is emerging fast at Elland Road. The pair would cost around £8million.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
