Transfer Rumours - May 4
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
Outgoing Wolves winger Bakary Sako has stunned Premier League sides Aston Villa and West Brom with his wage demands for a move.
The Mali international, 27, is expected to leave Molineux at the end of his contract but wants £50,000-a-week, plus a hefty signing on fee.
WEST BROM
West Brom are on the trail of World Cup winner and out-of-favour Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski, for what could be a cut-price transfer.
The Germany international has been loaned out to Italian giants Inter Milan this season and doesn't appear to be wanted by either club.
The Baggies are one of three Premier League clubs interested alongside Newcastle United and Sunderland, while German side Cologne are also keen.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa want to bring in left-back Andrew Robertson from top-flight rivals Hull City, in what could cost as much as £6million.
The position has been a problem for Villa this season, with both Aly Cissokho and Kieran Richardson drafted into the position.
Manager Tim Sherwood wants to solve the dilemma with emerging talent Robertson, a 21-year-old Scotland international.
He's shone with the Tigers since a £2.85million transfer from Dundee United in his homeland last summer and Hull aren't keen on selling.
WALSALL
Walsall manager Dean Smith will sit down with the club's out-of-contract players tomorrow and thrash out terms with those he wants to retain.
Goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell, Paul Downing, Adam and James Chambers, Ben Purkiss, Mal Benning and Ashley Grimes will all be spoken to.
