West Brom unlikely to move for Aston Villa target Wes Hoolahan
Wes Hoolahan's future is still up in the air as Albion sources rubbished rumours they could gazump Villa.
Reports claimed the Baggies were interested in the Ireland international – ahead of Villa – but he is not expected to move to The Hawthorns.
Hoolahan is a long-standing target for Villa boss Paul Lambert but he has seen three bids rejected by the Canaries.
Norwich have refused to let Hoolahan join Villa with the rift between chief executive David McNally and Lambert too deep.
The pair fell out over Lambert's 2012 switch from Carrow Road to Villa Park and relations are still sour.
Hoolahan had a transfer request rejected by Norwich and is also under investigation after allegedly aiming an expletive driven blast at the club yesterday.
The 31-year-old is under contract at the Canaries until 2015 but Norwich will not let Hoolahan leave unless they can find a replacement ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.
Albion are still searching for attacking reinforcements with Nicolas Anelka – who is out for Sunday's game with Liverpool with a knee injury – expected to be hit with an FA ban for his quenelle gesture last month.
Graham Dorrans is also possibly on his way to the Championship on loan.
The Baggies are also interested in taking young Espanyol forward Thievy Bifouma on loan.
