Video: Man City duo Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott in festive mood with cover of East 17
"It's a massive tune" according to Micah Richards, but Joleon Lescott is less than impressed despite mumbling a few lyrics of East 17's Stay Another Day.
The Manchester City defenders were taking part in their club's Christmas countdown and sang their version of this festive classic.
Richards admits he 'likes to hear this song around Christmas' whereas former Wolves defender Lescott can't quite get his head around the band's fashion sense - wearing a 'snow jacket and shades'.
Boybands are often criticised according to Richards but it is clear to see he is a firm favourite of this tune that 'is right up there' with other Christmas classics.
Lescott points out that former Man City midfielder Stephen Ireland, now at Stoke City, has a look-a-like featuring in the video around the 0.53 second mark.
The duo also get confused over Wham's 'Last Christmas' with defender Lescott thinking it's a Cliff Richard song - luckily Micah reminds him and reckons it's ' a tune that'll be down with the kids'.
Well, neither Lescott nor Richards showed as much enthusiasm as City's young Swedish striker John Guidetti. Mariah Carey - eat your heart out.
