He's nearly 40 but Paul Scholes still scores goals
It wasn't exactly Old Trafford but no matter the arena, Paul Scholes still scores goals.
The former Manchester United star proved he's lost none of his ball-striking ability by scoring an incredible goal when turning out for Oldham-based Chadderton Park Legends in a five-a-side game.
Scholes, who has helped out the team before, picked up the ball on the halfway line before launching a fierce strike over the keeper and into the back of the net.
Opponents Chaddy Park Vets – not used to facing a player of such pedigree – must have been ruing their luck.
The goal sparked memories of David Beckham's famous lob from the halfway line against Wimbledon in 1995.
Both were on the red carpet in Leicester Square last night at the premiere for Class of 92, the documentary which features on their rise through the ranks at Old Trafford along with team-mates Nicky Butt, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs.
