Villa could turn to Norwich boss Paul Lambert if they decide to axe Alex McLeish.

West Brom are being strongly linked with Dutch under-21 defender Bram Nuytinck. Reports in Holland claim the centre-half, who plays for Jonas Olsson's former club NEC Nijmegen, has been watched several times by Albion scouts.

Birmingham keeper Colin Doyle is reported to be close to joining Ipswich Town on a free transfer.
