Cannock hockey club to hosts Pakistan's Olympic team

Cannock will host the Pakistan hockey team during the 2012 Olympic tournament this summer, it was confirmed today.

The 107-year-old club was chosen for its training facilities, being one of only three in the country to have two water-based pitches, the type that will be used in the Games.

In 2009 the club, based at Chase Park in Hatherton, hosted a three-match test series between England and Pakistan.
