Birmingham's Frankie Gavin will return to action at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester - but not against his scheduled opponent.

Gavin had been set to defend his WBO Inter-Continental welterweight title for the second time against the organisation's Latino champion, Diego Gabriel Chaves, on October 28.

But problems getting the Argentinian into the country has opened the door for French national champion Frank Haroche Horta to take his place.

'Funtime' Frankie fights for the first time since switching camps from trainer Anthony Farnell to the tutelage of Jimmy and Mark Tibbs.

Under the old regime, it would have been a short trip on fight night for Gavin, but the move also saw him relocate from Manchester to London for 'personal non-boxing reasons.'

The fight will be screened live on Frank Warren's television channel BoxNation.
