16:55: A bad day on the whole for our teams in the region today, with Wolves and Albion both beaten this afternoon although Villa and Birmingham picked up a point.

It was thrilling for the neutral at Molineux but Bolton ran out 3-2 winners having gone three goals up in the second-half, only for Wolves to pull two back and come perilously close to an equaliser in the closing stages.

It was a see-saw battle for Albion at Wigan which could have gone either way but the Baggies will go back to the Black Country empty-handed, after one-time Baggies target Victor Moses' goal at the DW Stadium.

Birmingham heaped the pressure on Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini by escaping from Eastlands with a goalless draw, a good point on the road for Blues.

Another manager feeling the strain this evening is Walsall manager Chris Hutchings, who is now without a win in six games after a fourth straight League One defeat at Bournemouth.

In the early Premier League kick-off, Villa missed perhaps their best opportunity to beat Manchester United at home for the first time in 15 years, after being 2-0 up during an action-packed last 20 minutes, which saw the game finish a 2-2 draw.

16:45: Blackburn are trying to pull the score back to a respectable level against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, Gael Givet has pulled another back but it's still 4-2 to Spurs.

16:42: GOAL! It's going to finish as another miserable result for Walsall, a hat-trick for Josh McQuoid in a stinker for the Saddlers.

16:40: Finally something for Blackburn to cheer about - Ryan Nelsen pulls a goal back but it's still 4-1 to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

16:37: GOAL! Wolves cannot be serious, can they? Mick McCarthy's men have got it back to 3-2 from three goals down against Bolton at Molineux, substitute Steven Fletcher with the second reply.

16:30: Tottenham are flying today and they have now put four past Blackburn at White Hart Lane without reply, Gareth Bale with his second goal of the game.

16:27: GOAL! Wolves pull one back but it could be too little, too late against Bolton at Molineux, Kevin Foley has broke the hosts' duck but it's still 3-1 to the visitors.

16:27: Tottenham are home, dry and it's never really been in any doubt today, Peter Crouch is on the scoresheet with Spurs 3-0 up and cruising at White Hart Lane.

16:25: GOAL! It looks like Walsall are heading for another defeat after Bournemouth go two goals up at Dean Court, Josh McQuoid with his second of the game.

16:25: GOAL! Albion are breached at a vital point of the game as Wigan take a second-half lead at the DW Stadium, one-time Baggies target Victor Moses with the goal for the home side.

16:23: GOAL! It's going from bad to worse as they are surely going to be beaten comprehensively at home to Bolton today, Stuart Holden set up the second goal and has converted the third to make it 3-0 to the visitors.

16:17: GOAL! It's going to be an uphill battle for Wolves now as they go two goals down to a terrific bit of skill from Bolton striker Johan Elmander, but hesistant defending played a part in the goal.

15:29: GOAL! Walsall have it all to do now after Bournemouth take the lead just before the half-hour at Dean Court, Josh McQuoid with the goal for the home side.

15:16: Tottenham are ahead against Blackburn at White Hart Lane, Rafael van der Vaart's corner is turned in by Gareth Bale to give Spurs a much-needed lead.

15:01: GOAL! It's disaster for Wolves as they go behind after just a minute of their Premier League game with Bolton at Molineux, Richard Stearman makes a hash of Lee Chung-Yong's ball and puts through his own net.

14:45: It finishes all square in the early Premier League kick-off as Villa are stung by a late equaliser for the Saturday in succession as Manchester United snatch a draw, after Nemanja Vidic's 85th minute equaliser earns a 2-2 draw.

Villa had taken a 72nd minute lead through Ashley Young's penalty, which he won after Wes Brown's challenge, and Marc Albrighton's goal four minutes put an unlikely win on the cards.

But Federico Macheda's reply on 81 minutes put United back in the game with Vidic breaking claret and blue hearts with his equaliser.

14:30: A big day for our teams in the region as all five are in league action today, with Wolves the only team at home in the 3pm kick-offs with Bolton the visitors to Molineux.

Albion hit the road in the Premier League with a trip to the DW Stadium to play an erratic Wigan side and, after a comeback at West Ham, the Baggies will be looking to upset their hosts.

Birmingham will become the third West Midlands side to face Manchester City in the last two weeks when they make the trip to Eastlands, looking to end a four-game winless run.

Walsall face another tough ask if they are to ease the pressure on under-pressure manager Chris Hutchings, without a win in five games as they go to face a Bournemouth side formidable on their Dean Court ground.

Villa's home game with Manchester United in the early Premier League kick-off will be finished by the team we open play.
