Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome has warned the Premier League big-boys - 'we're not afraid of you.'

Blues moved up to fifth in the top flight after being held to a goalless draw by Liverpool at St Andrew's yesterday.

A draw made it 17 Premier League games unbeaten at St Andrew's and Jerome insisted his team don't have anything to fear after their unbeaten start to the season.

He said: "I don't think we should be intimidated by these big teams. I thought we dominated Liverpool. They had a strong finish but we set off from the start and set our stall out early.

"We were bright and hard in the tackle, we got behind them and starting turning them.

"We got our space and started to play football. We should have been out of sight at half time. Barring the two or three saves their goalkeeper Pepe Reina made we would have had a comfortable lead.

"If we take points against the top teams, I'm sure we will have a strong season."

But Jerome refused to get carried away and believes Blues must continue to build on their solid start and aim to better last season's ninth placed finish.

He said: "We're not going to be complacent any time soon. It's the mentality, you can't rest on your laurels.

"You can't think 'we had a great season last year, ninth, that's it, done.'

"That when the hard work starts, maintaining your Premier League status year in, year out and having a bit of stability at the football club."
