Birmingham vice-chairman Peter Pannu has insisted the club are set to continue their summer spending spree and hinted a striker is a top priority.

Manager Alex McLeish is expected to add to his squad, backed by owner Carson Yeung's millions, and is interested in Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

Despite spending £12million on Nikola Zigic and goalkeeper Ben Foster, Pannu confirmed funds to secure more players are on the way.

He said: "We're pleased with the business we have done so far, but we are all of the view that we haven't done yet.

"We still need a tricky, fast, cheeky sort of ace striker to support our other players and Nikola Zigic."
