Axe threat for Walsall players
Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has threatened his players with more than the chop if they fail to perform in the season's finale.
Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has threatened his players with more than the chop if they fail to perform in the season's finale.
The League One campaign ends in two weeks after a trip to Carlisle and the final day visit of MK Dons, after which the out-of-contract stars discover their fates.
The Saddlers are set for a mid-table finish and have little but pride to play for but boss Hutchings insists futures are in the balance.
He said: "People say we haven't got much to play for but people's contracts are up.
"It's not 'we're going to see it out' it's about performing and that's what you get paid to do.
"It's the least we expect and if they don't they won't be in the side."
