Walsall routed Burton as Sam Parkin made a goalscoring return from injury at the Pirelli Stadium.

The striker made his comeback after a month out with a groin problem to net a first half strike last night, before being substituted at the interval as the Saddlers look to ease him in.

Peter Till, Darren Byfield and substitute Will Grigg added a gloss to the result in the totesport.com League Central Division.

The Saddlers were always in control and they went ahead after 17 minutes when Till teed up Parkin to lash home after Byfield's shot had hit the post.

And 22 seconds into the after the break they doubled the lead when Till smashed in from 15 yards.

The impressive Grigg saw Alex Monk block his effort on the line and Kevin Poole saved well from the striker.

Byfield's drive flashed past Poole to make it 3-0 after 68 minutes before Clayton Ince blocked Monk's close range effort.

But the Saddlers continued to press and Grigg grabbed the goal his performance deserved when he capitalised on a defensive error to slip under Poole in injury time.
