16:55: It turned out relatively nice on the whole for our teams in the region today, not least for Wolves who survived some late scares to record a 2-1 win against Burnley at Turf Moor that could prove invaluable in the games to come.
It was also all smiles at the Hawthorns as Graham Dorrans' penalty finally saw off the spirited challenge of Blackpool and, with leaders Newcastle and Nottingham Forest in third dropping points, the Baggies' position has been strengthened.
Villa and Stoke slugged it out at the Britannia Stadium but neither could get the upper hand as the game finished a goalless draw, while Birmingham overturned a two goal deficit to take a point at home to Everton.
In League One, former Premier League midfielder Sean Thornton scored twice to earn Leyton Orient a 2-0 win over Walsall.
