Coseley light welterweight Richard Ghent has vowed to box clever with slippery veteran Sid Razak as the step up in style continues at Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

'Ghenty' takes on the 45-fight pro over four rounds tomorrow, looking to keep up his undefeated record and build on an encouraging over another the even more experienced Daniel Thorpe last October in Dudley.

The 22-year-old has yet to lose a round in his four-fight career with a stoppage already in the bag from his second outing, and is looking to carve out a reputation as an endurance fighter as the opponents are stepped up.

Both him and his opponent are natural lightweights, able to float up and down a division at will with Ghent set to come in at 10st - bang on the start of the light welter weight class - on the day.

And the former Priory Park amateur has learned enough to take no chances with the Birmingham journeyman.

He said: "Sid has been about, so it should be a good bout. I am just going to take the fight as it comes, and it's a tough one for me to be honest.

"You have got to box clever with these sort of fighters, it's no good going in there looking to take him out straightaway. It's how you learn, and this is the second tricky opponent I have had in a row.

"But I didn't lose a round against Thorpe, and I plan to do the same with Razak.

"I will keep working off my jab and let the combinations flow. Win every round, build up a lead, and if I can do that I will be happy."

Tickets are still available for the show, by contacting the box office on 0870 320 7000 or promoter Paul 'PJ' Rowson on 07976 283 157.

The 10-fight show will also be broadcast online live on pay-per view at a cost of just £2.99, through Hatton TV at www.brandhatton.com.
