Jerome and Blues eye FA Cup charge
Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome has urged the club to make a second slice of history this term by tasting FA Cup glory.
Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome has urged the club to make a second slice of history this term by tasting FA Cup glory.
Blues have already re-written the history books once during their impressive return season in the Premier League, after embarking on a club-record 12-game unbeaten run in the top flight.
Victory over Portsmouth on Saturday would also clinch an FA Cup semi-final date at Wembley and Jerome believes Alex McLeish's men have as good a chance as anyone of lifting the trophy.
The forward said: "We have had a tremendous season. To get to the 40 points barrier by the end of February is a great achievement but we want to push on and make it a truly remarkable season.
"We have already made history with the amount of games unbeaten in a row. Let's make some more. It's been a long time since Birmingham got to the FA Cup final and it would be brilliant for the club and the fans if we could do it this year.
"It's only two games away now so it's a possibility. This is one of those seasons when a few of the bigger teams have gone out, so it's an opportunity for one of the others to progress all the way and possibly win the cup.
"It's anyone's cup at the moment."
