Birmingham City's transfer bids hit a double-snag with their attempts to sign Aruna Dindane and Roman Pavlyuchenko both in the balance.

Talks have broken down with French club Lens over Dindane, who was at St Andrew's yesterday to discuss terms but was no closer to becoming a Blues player this morning.

Lens want a straight cash deal for the striker, who has been on loan at Portsmouth, but Birmingham are keener on a loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Meanwhile, the latest bid for Russian striker Pavlyuchenko, believed to be worth around £10m, has been rebuffed by Tottenham.

Mauro Boselli has also been linked with a move to the second city for £11m but the Argentinian, of Estudiantes, is thought to be the club's third choice.
