Bullish Troy Deeney has warned Norwich the Walsall strike-force will have them running scared when the teams face off.

The striker is aiming to penetrate a defence which has conceded just once in their last six games to help the visitors to the League One summit.

They are the leading scorers in the division with 60 goals but Deeney insists the Canaries, unbeaten in 14 games, should fear him and Darren Byfield tonight.

He said: "Their back four will be worried about us which is even better, because we should be more chances. I'm not quick but I'm alright and Daz is very fast, so if we play our high tempo pressing game and play on the front foot we'll do a bit of damage.

"As a team Norwich have some good attacking players but that's about it. If we keep them quiet we'll do alright. We'll see how the two styles compare but I think we'll win, I really do."

With the Saddlers slipping 11 points off the top six, eight-goal Deeney reckons there is no pressure on the hosts, who are hunting their first win in four outings.

He said: "Most people look at us as a small club and they'll come here thinking they have to win. "That suits us as we cause more problems for ourselves when we have to take the game to someone.

"When we play the big teams the performances take care of themselves. There's nothing to be scared about, we're not going to be panicking."

The Saddlers have injury doubts over Steve Jones and Mark Hughes, with skipper Hughes still recovering from a twisted ankle picked up in the 2-1 defeat against Brighton last week.

Deeney admits the loss, their only game in the last five weeks, is playing on his mind ahead of the gruelling February fixtures.

He said: "It does because it's the only thing to look back on. Having not played in a month there are a few people who are rusty. I missed a chance in that game and that plays on your mind.

"With all the games in the next month it's going to be a tough one, so hopefully get we'll get back on the winning trail."
