Young Walsall defender Netan Sansara has pledged his future to the club and admitted a new long-term deal is his priority.
His contract expires at the end of the season and the left-back's has targeted staying at the Banks's Stadium beyond June.
He said: "I want my long term future secure, in football that's what every player wants. I'm no different, I know I'm young and might have to work an extra bit harder but I'm willing to do that.
"My performances on the pitch have begun to show maturity and hopefully I can stay in the team and earn a nice new deal."
The 20-year-old has started 11 games this season after eight in his debut campaign last year and believes boss Chris Hutchings trusts him.
Sansara said: "I'm glad the gaffer has shown faith in me and I can repay him in on the pitch.
"At the start of the season he sat down with me and said I'll get my chance and it was up to me to take it. He's seen I can do a job now."
