The former British champion was last but one of the balls drawn last night by boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr, ensuring him a quarter-final meeting with the Welshman.

Jones is a late replacement for former British champion Barry Morrison, who has pulled out with injury, but has won 16 out of 19 fights with seven inside the distance.

But Mutley's side of the draw could set up a rematch with Colin Lynes, who knocked him out for the British and European titles in 2007, should the Londoner beat David Barnes to reach the semis.

The Black Country veteran could even get his dream fight in the final with Gavin Rees on the other side of the draw, but the ex-WBA title holder must first best one-time European champion Ted Bami.

The winner will meet either Michael Grant or former European and world titlist Jason Cook in the second stage.

'Prizefighter' is a one-night, £32,000 winner-take-all event to be held at London's Olympia on December 4.
