Hednesford have parted company with manager Dean Edwards in the wake of their FA Cup humiliation at the weekend.

The Pitmen were humbled 4-1 at home by the Hellenic League minnows from Herefordshire on Saturday, a result that has ultimately cost Edwards - who came to the Grove after leaving Willenhall in the summer of 2008 - his job.

He leaves with the Pitmen 13th in the Southern League table - after a league leading start last year had since them tumble to eighth in the end - and without a win since beating Didicot 1-0 on August 22.

Now the search begins for a new manager, with player/coach Richard Walker and other senior players expected to take the team until then.
