Loan deal uncertain

Walsall boss Chris Hutchings remains undecided over whether to extend Clayton McDonald's loan stay.

Defender McDonald arrived at the Banks's Stadium on a one-month loan from Manchester City last week as cover for injured duo Stephen Roberts and Mark Hughes and the 20-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances alongside Manny Smith.

Hutchings confirmed the Saddlers are able to extend the loan should they wish but, with skipper Hughes fit again, he admits he has a decision to make.

"We will monitor the situation," said Hutchings.
