Winger wants to crank up the Banks's

Walsall winger Steve Jones has called for fans to crank up noise levels and create a pressure cooker atmosphere at the Banks's.

The Saddlers are eyeing their first home win of the season when Gillingham visit on Saturday, after a draw against Southend and a defeat to Leeds.

Jones reckons the Saddlers faithful can play a massive part in the players' home form if they can raise the roof.

He said: "It's nice to have the atmosphere we had against Leeds, but it would be even better if it were our fans. Players thrive on the atmosphere, especially at home.

"The better the team does the more fans come and watch. They pay their money and want to see the team do well. If we do that then we will get the fans in.

"Hopefully we can get going in the next five to 10 games and see what the crowd is after that."

The winger realises the Saddlers cannot afford too many home slip-ups this season if they are to challenge for the League One play-offs.

He added: "Hopefully it will be third time lucky on Saturday," said the 32-year-old.
