Skipper calls for ruthless streak
Captain Stephen Hughes admits Walsall need to be more ruthless after revealing his frustration at the Saddlers' season.

Chris Hutchings' men slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Tranmere on Saturday, but had a chance for immediate redemption at Stockport this afternoon.
Bas Savage's 79th-minute goal at the Banks's Stadium condemned the hosts to their eighth home defeat of the season in League One and skipper Hughes says they need a killer streak after the weekend's results mathematically ruled out the play-offs.
He said: "That's what top class sides have, the higher you go the less chances you get and the more deadly the opposition are. That's what separates the best teams from the others.
"It's been disappointing, but I wouldn't blame it solely on the attackers. We win and lose as a team and that's where we are."
The 32-year-old midfielder admitted the Saddlers' position in 14th, is a disappointment and believes they would be challenging for promotion had they been more ruthless.
"We know we've let ourselves down this season, on a number of occasions, and if we had turned games like Tranmere into wins I'm sure we'd have been be right up there," he said.
"There are a number of games we've lost in last minute and some we've drawn and we've only got ourselves to blame. When we look back at the end of the season we'll be disappointed."
