The match was cleared to go ahead after the Yeltz's midweek suspension by the FA was finally lifted late on Friday, following intense behind-the-scenes work.

But the problems moved to the pitch, as the Steelman romped into a four-goal lead at the interval after former Yeltz goalkeeper Mark Osborn made a tremendous save to keep out Dennis Pearce's early header.

Corby responded to take a ninth minute lead, with Mettam's delightful 20-yard shot into the top corner from Tommy Jaszczun's quickly-taken free-kick.

Jason Lee doubled the lead with a simple 23rd minute header, after Jaszczun's cross evaded goalkeeper Nick Bussey.

A third goal followed in the 37th minute, when Joe Francis played his rebounded effort on for Mettam to control and convert in the six-yard box.

Mettam completed his hat-trick to make it an incredible 4-0 on the stroke of half-time when he squeezed a shot under Bussey.

With the game effectively over, the second-half proved to be a non-event with Corby always looking likely to add further goals and Steve Towers completed the 5-0 rout after 63 minutes, by following up after substitute Matt O'Halloran's shot was blocked.

To complete Halesowen's misery, full-back Jack Allward was dismissed with a straight red card in the 83rd minute after a challenge on substitute Matt Nolan.

Late on, Bussey saved well from Towers and O'Halloran somehow blasted an open goal high over the Halesowen bar.
