The town's only professional boxer takes on Scott Sandmann, in his first fight back after a troublesome knuckle injury kept him out of a planned fight in October.

He had sailed through eight rounds for the first time the month before, and the light-welterweight is likely to be joined by a 200-strong contingent from Stafford in bout number 12 of his pro career.

Hunt said: "I want to get that title shot this year, that is my goal. I have seen Dean Harrison go as close as he has to getting his shot at glory and - well, I want some of that.

"The British title maybe a way away, but that is want I want to achieve. It wouldn't just be fantastic for me, it would be fantastic for Stafford as well.

"There is going to be a lot of tough tests for me along the way at this weight, so Scott is another step on the way. I don't have a problem with that, I have to prove myself."
