'The Black Country Bodysnatcher' competes for the first time since his controversial British middleweight title defeat at the hands of Wayne Elcock on June 20.

He was stopped in the second round with a gashed left cheekbone, in front of 1,700 fans at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

'Macca' has swore revenge ever since and is two steps away from the opportunity to do that.

Firstly, he must wow the crowd at 'the Venue' against the experienced Estonian. Secondly, he must conquer the unbeaten Commonwealth champion Darren Barker in an eliminator, with a British title shot the prize for the victor.

Should Dudley's own come through that, 'McDermott v Elcock: Part Two' would become a reality, assuming the champ overcomes mandatory challenger Matthew Macklin.

All McDermott can think of is the prize.

He said: "Losing like that to Wayne has just made me even more determined to prove who is the best in Britain. I feel good and I am really fit. You will see that at 'the Venue.'

"The fans are for a treat come Saturday night."

To be there for the return of McDermott, contact promoter Paul 'PJ' Rowson on 07976 283 157.

Tickets are priced at £30 and £50. The £50 ticket includes a table seat, full Indian meal and a drinks service.
