The on-loan Chelsea defender returns to Wolves buoyed by a taster of football's top table after several days' training with the full England squad for their friendly win over Germany last night.

Mancienne has already become a cult figure among Wolves fans after being man of the match in each of his first three starts, with the club wanting to extend his stay for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old has been equally impressed with his temporary team-mates and reckons they can remain top dogs in the Championship, where they are six points clear.

He said: "If I do leave, then I know they'll be in very good shape and can go on and win the Championship title. They have a good squad of players capable of doing it, so I have no doubts.

"It's a good feeling to be top of the table, and playing good football. These are exciting times because there's a lot going on.

"The move to Wolves, and the fact they like to play good football, and are top of the Championship, has definitely helped. I'd like to think one day I can play regular Premier League football, but being at Wolves is a great stepping stone. We're buzzing at the moment."
