The 19-year-old from Willenhall makes his pro debut alongside fellow starlet Quinton Hillox on the last 'First Team Promotions' show of 2008.

Holder steps into the ring with a good amateur record of 15 wins in 18 fights, a record he is looking to take and build on in the toughest arena of all.

At least he won't have to worry about backing, with haulage business 'JJ Express' and industrial workwear firm 'Arks and Sparks' on board as sponsors, so the Willenhall hope can solely concentrate on his first task in the pro ranks.

The teenager is understandably elated, with just two weeks to go before the big night.

He said: "To be finishing 2008 with my pro debut on a show like 'the Venue' at Dudley is an exciting prospect for me. It is the last show of the year and should be a special occasion.

"It should be a great night and I am happy to be a part of it."

Holder joins a division brimming with talent - and that is just in the 'First Team' stable alone - and the youngster is not trying to run before he can walk.

But he is allowed to dream, and he knows what that dream is.

He said: "Like every other new pro, my ultimate aspiriation would be to win a British title. I know at light-middleweight that would be a tough call, even just considering the boxers in our camp!

"I have already sparred with the likes of Young Mutley and Dean Harrison, which has been a great learning experience for me. At this point in my development, I am just trying not to aim too high."

With 2008 ending with his pro debut, Holder is gearing up for a vital first full year in the pro ranks in 2009.

He added: "Next year will be massive for me, as you can understand. I aim to get five fights under my belt in 2009, with five wins of course! Jamie Ball did that this year and it has been great for him."

To be there for Holder's big night, contact promoter Paul 'PJ' Rowson on 07976 283 157.

Tickets are priced at £30 and £50. The £50 ticket includes a table seat, full Indian meal and a drinks service.
